Healthy Smile for Kids

HEAD BACK TO CLASS WITH A HEALTHY SMILE!

We recommend keeping your dental care set in your backpack or lunchbox for a quick cleaning after lunch. Oral health is essential for kids (and parents, too!) to prevent bacteria build-up, tooth decay, and oral diseases. The positives of keeping good oral hygiene are numerous!

Healthy Lunchbox Food Items

SOME ADDITIONAL HEALTHY & NUTRITIOUS TIPS:

Eating a balanced diet is important for optimal health, and for maintaining vitamins that help to strengthen your teeth. “Sugar Bugs” cause nasty cavities, so eliminate sugar whenever possible. Instead, opt for fresh fruits and veggies, milk and cheeses, lean meats, and whole grains. For healthy kid-friendly recipes and food ideas, click here.

By simply keeping a habit of brushing twice daily and flossing each day, your child can enjoy fresh breath, strong teeth that will last late into their age, prevention of gum disease (Gingivitis), sparkling stain-free teeth, and drastically lower the chances of developing dementia. Additionally, it can save your family money in the long run, too, because you can avoid costly medical/oral ailments.

Dental Caries Tooth Decay Symptoms

To ensure all your children’s teeth are ready to SMILE all school-year long, be sure to visit Sunshine Children’s Dentistry. The American Dental Association recommends oral checkups twice annually for children (and adults, too). QUESTIONS? We are a resource to you and are happy to answer any questions you may have about your child’s changing smile. We believe that oral health should be FUN and something to SMILE about!
